The Hancy / Williams / Garvin / Benson Relationship
William Hancy was my 4 x Great Grandfather and he and his wife Sarah came to Australia as "free settlers" on the convict ship Minorca arriving in Sydney on the 14/12/1801. their daughter Catherine married James Williams [my 3 x Great Grandfather] who had been deported as a convict on the convict ship Marquess Wellington and arrived in Australia on 27/1/1815. They were married 1818 in Parramatta, NSW.
Their daughter Louisa married the Rev. John Garvin in 1846 and in turn their daughter Catherine married Richard Benson in 1881. Their 5th child Katherine Louisa Benson was my grandmother.
